The Institute addresses the urgent realities of poverty, human trafficking, and modern day slavery, challenging approaches that have not worked and amplifying ones that do.
We examine cutting-edge work in myriad disciplines, testing assumptions against evidence and identifying breakthroughs with the potential to transform our world.
The Community-Based Poverty Initiative brings together local knowledge and practical action to help communities identify the barriers keeping people in poverty and build strategies for long-term progress.
Working alongside local leaders and residents, the Institute is developing a community-based approach that can be adapted to the distinct needs and opportunities of each place.
The Institute supports one-year Fellowships for individuals of all ages who wish to pursue intensive study in one of our six focus areas. The Institute serves as an incubator for Fellows to prepare their work for future growth. Upon completion, Fellows are required to serve as mentors for future Fellows.
